BASIC TUTORIAL

In this overview tutorial we will learn how
to use:
- The basic Zoom and Pan Tools.
- Show/Hide various data layers.
- Use the Identify Tool to view the attributes of your
active data layer.

The current Tool Mode is displayed in the lower left
corner.
The Overview Map is shown on the top left corner.
The Main Map is displayed in the center.
The area below the Main Map is reserved for displaying
Feature Attributes and Tool Menus.
The Data Layers are shown as a list on the right.
Toggle between Legend/Layer List:
Click on the [Layer/Legend] button to
display the Legend.
This button acts like a toggle between the Legend and Layer
List.


The next tool toggles the Overview Map on or off.

Click once to hide the Overview Map.

Click once on the Zoom In
Tool.
The Tool Mode will show that you are in Zoom In Mode.
Click once anywhere on the Main Map.

The map zooms in around the
point you clicked.
The red rectangle in the Overview Map shows the extent of
your zoomed area.
The North Arrow is displayed on the lower left corner of the
map.
The green Scale Bar displays the distance in miles.

Each time you click, the map
zooms in closer.
You can also zoom in by defining a zooming rectangle.
Click and drag a rectangle AB on your map

The map zooms in closer to display the area defined by your rectangle AB.
When you press this button, it is the
active tool. As long as it is highlighted in red, the mouse action will be to
zoom in.
Zoom Out works in the same way as Zoom In.
The Full Extend button restores the view back to the original display. It zooms to fit the entire county into the Map Frame.

The Back to Last Extent button displays the last view setting that was used. This button toggles between the last two views displayed in the Map Frame.
